competition within

hey
I hope you need some inspiration sayings..

I may not reach the heights I seek, My untried strength may fail me; Or, halfway up the mountain peak Fierce tempests may assail me. But though that place I never gain, Herein lies the comfort for my pain – I will be worthy of it.

I may not triumph in success, Despite my earnest labour; I may not grasp results that bless The efforts of my neighbour. But though my goal I never see, This thought shall always dwell with me – I will be worthy of it.

The golden glory of Love’s light May never fall on my way; My path may always lead through night, Like some deserted by-way. But though life’s dearest joy I miss, There lies a nameless strength in this – I will be worthy of it.

walk with me please

Hello

I welcome to take a walk through this short path with me. When I was a little younger, with all the hope and optimism and innocence that comes with being a child, I changed careers form a teacher to a banker and to a pilot. I believe I lived every week working in different places. But with aging the story changed, money was and still is the overall motivator. Well but what can I really say? I am focused on worrying all the time…about schoolwork, lacking any money, relationships, family, politics…
I remember hearing this poem one day

“Time is my shepherd
I shall not want

He drives me from one activity to the next,
Rushing through the traffic lights and meeting deadlines
I rush form task to task leaving some unfinished
And my boss is always complaining..
It leaves me exhausted,
With no energy to undertake any activity
And regret follows shall follow me, all the days of my life……..”

It is an adaptation of psalm 23…

Well I decided to do something different at least with the “responsible “journalism that I have been looking for. And I want the story of the village told at this moment. The children that I have seen as I travel all over Kenya, walking barefoot, the bad feelings of how much I worked at the school farms instead of getting an education. The feelings that I have of a budget even when I have no voting rights….and obviously it’s too late for me to say my dreams and opinions. However it is not too late for my siblings and every other young child in Kenya.

SO where do you come in?? Do you have a camera or a video recorder or tape recorder or scanner that you are no longer using because the pixels are not good enough? I am requesting you to donate it. I am traveling all over the country to teach these stories on film making and photography and allocating each class of students one piece of equipment available. Each student will have a chance to carry the camera home for just a day and record what they wish. These will be compiled for the specific classes and will be put up on a website at the end of the year…
